On a recent trip to Sedona, Arizona I was greeted by three straight days of rain. The sky was dark and dramatic and I knew that there would be opportunities for wonderful photographs if the sun had a chance to peak through openings in the clouds. I had scouted this location and knew I wanted to return. When the rain stopped momentarily and the light broke through the clouds I was ready. This combination of light, shadow, and cloud lasted for about fifteen or thirty seconds which is plenty of time if you are ready for it.
