Aspen, Colorado during Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. It is a day when one fasts and spends the day in synagogue asking forgiveness for the sins of the previous year. I felt I was in god's special synagogue as I walked through the Maroon Bells Wilderness Area. It was a gorgeous, cool, day in the Rocky Mountains. The Aspens had turned vivid yellow and the sky was a deep blue with puffy white clouds lingering in and out. I was dizzy from the high altitude and also from fasting. Everything seemed like a wonderful dream.
