There had been a freak-hail storm I Kansas and I was out photographing some of the damage that it had caused. I saw this field of hail-damaged corn and immediately envisioned this photograph. I went to the farm house but the owner was out. I asked his wife to put on his boots and to stand in the corn. I got down on the ground and photographed her legs against the damaged stalks of corn.
